The Wythe Hotel Will Host a Phô Pop-Up with the Chef from The Slanted Door
So, it’s pretty cold out or whatever. We don’t really mind the cold, if we’re being honest. We don’t like when the sidewalks are virtual ice skating rinks, but, you know, so it goes. However, if you’re the type of person who can’t handle the cold and will do anything to warm up inside, or even if you’re the kind of person who can handle the cold, but still likes to artificially try and warm up your cold, cold heart, well, we’ve got great news for you: There’s going to be a phô pop-up at The Wythe Hotel’s restaurant Reynard for three days this February. You’ll be able to slurp steaming, nourishing bowls of Vietnamese soup to your heart’s content.
On February 15, 16, and 17, Andrew Tarlow and chef Sean Rembold of Reynard will welcome chef Charles Phan of Sna Francisco’s acclaimed, James Beard Award-winning restaurant, The Slanted Door, to the Wythe for a phô pop-up. It’s a set price of $38 (not including tax, tip, or drinks), and it’s walk-ins only from 6-11pm. Via a press release, it was revealed that the menu will include family-style appetizers, like spring rolls with roasted peanut sauce, yellowtail with crispy shallots, lime, and Thai basil, and more; followed by a choice of phô ga (chicken) or phô bo (beef); and a dessert of either Slanted Door beignets and meyer lemon “tarts.”
