Brooklyn Heights eatery and bar Henry Public may have suffered from an intoxicated driver plowing their car through its front window earlier this week, but it’ll take more than that to keep them from opening. The bar is back in action with a temporary plywood facade to keep out the winter cold.
The incident occurred on Monday around 5:00 pm, when an unnamed 66-year-old driver smashed through the bay window at the front of the building. The driver was found unconscious in the car with an open container of vodka, and was transported to Lutheran Medican Center and arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Repairs to the window are going to take a while, owner Matt Dawson told DNA Info. “It’s not going to be cheap to re-do the whole thing,” he said. Yikes. Glad no one got hurt.
