The death of the bookstore has been a long predicted event. In Brooklyn, there has even been a mini-bookstore boom: A cluster of new bookstores opened in Bushwick in the past couple years, girded by a system of stalwart independents like BookCourt and Community Books. But other boroughs are not so lucky. This past week, a lease dispute in Bay Plaza means that the last bookstore in the Bronx is about to shutter.
