A Guide to the Brooklyn Book Festival
The real problem with book festivals is the same trouble that occurs with festivals of any kind: There is just too much to do. Sunday’s Brooklyn Book Festival is full of interesting panels and smart people speaking about writing, plus a field of booths with all kinds of lovely literary treats. From Paul Auster to Naomi Klein to Roz Chast, there are many folks appearing at the festival who hope to bend your ear. Below, a quick guide to some of the events that caught our eye. The panel: 21st Century Narrators Presented by The London Review of Books. The Possessed author Elif Batuman, 10:04 writer Ben Lerner, Paris Review editor Lorin Stein, and London Review of Books columnist Christine Smallwood talk about the evolution of authority and narration in the 2st century, with help from editor Christian Lorentzen.
