A Show and a Cocktail: Alice Boman + Pink Baby
There are few pleasures in the known world like a really, really great live show. The perfect song, delivered in the perfect setting, while you rock-and-forth, elbow-to-elbow, with a room full of happy strangers. The only thing that could make it better? Matching it with the perfect drink. Our picks for this weekend’s best show and drink pairing, after the jump.
The Show: Alice Boman @ Baby’s All Right, 9/14
The Drink: Pink Baby, a frozen blend of vodka, grapefruit juice, lime, and mate.
Swedish-based songstress Alice Boman makes the kind of songs that will haunt you at night, with her signature vocal lilt underscored by soft pianos, ghostly choirs, and a faint wash of melancholic reverb. The cool blue of her lovely, lo-fi folk matches perfectly with Baby’s All Right’s signature cocktail, Pink Baby — both are chill, but after you’re done, you’re sure to feel a distinct pick-me-up.
Get a feel for Boman’s ethereal stage presence in her recently released video for “Be Mine.” You can also hear her stellar cover of The War on Drug’s track, “Red Eyes,” below.
