Bushwig, Brooklyn’s Annual Drag Festival, Is This Weekend
Bring us your silver rompers, your bouffant wigs, your false eyelashes, or those sequin sweatpants rammed into your closet yearning to be free. This weekend is Bushwig, the Bushwick drag carnival and arts festival that began in 2012 and has grown to be an annual event.
What’s in store is lunacy, nudity, music, and fun, fun, fun. This year, Bushwig is on both Saturday and Sunday. The more insane day promises to be Saturday, when festivities kick off at Secret Project Robot at 1 pm and don’t finish until 8 am the following morning at Spectrum. Performers include folks like Horrorchata, Elle Emenope, Rachel Ratchet, Sasha Velour, and other drag luminaries, including an unnamed surprise guest from Rupaul’s Drag Race season six.
Tickets are available for Sunday, Saturday, or the whole weekend at Secret Project Robot’s site. Buckle on your wigs, folks. We’ll see you in Bushwick.
