Who Wants to Open for Lena Dunham’s Book Tour?
Maybe you’ve heard: Lena Dunham, she of the fruit-printed crop tops and burgeoning HBO empire, is publishing a hotly anticipated memoir this September. In advance of her Not That Kind of Girl tour—which begins and ends in New York City—Dunham has put out the call for opening acts to perform before she chats onstage with her interviewer.
So if you have a hidden talent or want to reenact that incredibly painful karaoke version of “Stronger” that Allison Williams pulled on Season 2 of Girls, now is your chance. To wit:
Submit a video demonstrating your talent (singing, comedy, musical spoons, etc) under your local city where available. Your act must be 3 – 5 minutes and able to be performed with a limited set (AKA a solo microphone and a stage). We want to keep it local, so we ask that you reside within a 75 mile radius of the event city for which you are submitting your talent.
Hopefuls have until 11:59 pm EST on August 1. Dunham hits Brooklyn on October 21 for a conversation with Zadie Smith at BAM, featuring an appearance by Jack Antonoff’s band Bleachers and Jemima Kirke. Submit those cringe-worthy videos right here.
