Greenpoint Open Studios Returns This Fall After Three-Year Hiatus
There hasn’t been a fully organized Greenpoint Open Studios in three years, but thanks to the efforts of Greenpointers.com founder Jen Galatioto, the festival is returning October 3-5. It’s time to art-gawk, folks.
In the past, GOS has operated as part of our own Northside Festival, but this year, Galationto hopes to put on a fully fledged, independent event that’ll invite the public into hundreds (well, hopefully—they’re still taking submissions) of artists’ studios, bookended by kickoff and wrap-up parties on Friday and Sunday nights. Saturday and Sunday will mean all-day art-hopping, mapped out on free brochures.
They’re accepting everything from film to photography, video, installation, sculpture, printmaking, painting and drawing, should you be good at any of those things, and you can submit by posting a photo or video on the GOS site. Non-artists, you can still sign up to volunteer by emailing artsingreenpoint@gmail.com. We’ll see ya there.
