The rumors are true: After two months of speculation, permits have been filed for a new branch of boutique hotel chain, Ace Hotel, in Downtown Brooklyn.
The new Ace Hotel will go up at 61 Bond Street at Schermerhorn Street and rise 13 stories, featuring 285 rooms and taking up 156,985 square feet of space, Brownstoner reports. Like its amenity-rich sister hotels, Ace Hotel Brooklyn will boast plenty of other features (some open to the public), including “a coffee shop, ground floor retail, radio station, restaurant, fitness center and event spaces.” Downtown Brooklyn will lose yet another parking lot in the process.
The new hotel will be the eighth in the Ace Hotel chain, which also has a location in Midtown.
