French Food Pop-Up, Le Fooding, Coming To Rockaway Beach
If you’re like us, then you’re probably already thinking about how you haven’t been out to Rockaway Beach nearly enough this summer. Labor Day (i.e. the end of the summer beach season) is a mere 54 days away and the pressure to head out there and have a great day is mounting. Well, let this be a major draw: this weekend, famed French pop-up, Le Fooding, will host a 3-day bash on the beach and it sounds like a really, really good time.
Brooklyn Based caught up with Le Fooding US co-founder Anna Polonsky for the details. This Friday through Sunday, New Yorkers are invited to visit the beach for an Italian-style picnic featuring celebrated chefs like Momofuku Milk Bar’s Christina Tosi and Ivan Ramen’s Ivan Orkin while Cibo Matto, the New York Brass Band and Nancy Whang (formerly of LCD Soundsystem) set the mood music-wise.
Each day there will be two seatings, one at 12pm and one at 2:15, where guests will enjoy three courses and an abundance of San Pelligrino. No food substitutions will be made.
Admission will set you back $40 and 10% of all proceeds will go toward Graybeards in its ongoing post-Sandy recovery efforts. Buy tickets here.
Le Fooding will be located at 97-01 Shorefront Parkway near Beach 98th Street.
