Today’s Track: GOAT, “Hide From the Sun”
July is a great time for mixing it up. Not just our drinks, but our outfits (maximum color, please), our routines, and our music. Swedish band GOAT is the sonic equivalent of this high summer surrender to absolute rule-breaking, not just in how they dress (see above, please), but in their vibrant mixture of acid-and-funk-psychedelia with occasional cameos from Afrobeat and awesomely fuzzed-out-guitar. The just released track “Hide From the Sun” is the first from their upcoming record with Sub Pop, who describe the band as “an ongoing multi-generational collective of musicians.” So, it’s not just their sound that happily defies logic. We’re into it.
