The Most Promising Young Filmmakers in Brooklyn
BAMcinemaFest begins its sixth year on Wednesday, the first of 12 days of the best in independent cinema. While it features highly anticipated indies like Boyhood and Snowpiercer, the festival also showcases local talent: almost a third of its features were directed by filmmakers who call Brooklyn home, a diverse crowd of natives and transplants, many of whom we spoke with about whether a “Brooklyn film scene” exists, about which theater is the best to see a movie, and much more.
