Someone has finally stepped up to fill the giant hole left by the recent demise of Rockabus. As of of this weekend, Bushwick has its very own beach bus, and a ride will only cost you six bucks.
The news comes via Bushwick Daily: This Saturday, Pearl’s Social and Billy Club will launch the Bushwick Beach Bus, which will take locals from Bushwick to Fort Tilden, Rockaway Beach and Ripper’s. Before the bus departs at 10am, riders are invited to enjoy coffee, tea, croissants and mini baguette sandwiches from Strangeways (one of Bushwick’s new cafés).
While tickets aren’t officially on sale yet, interested parties can shoot an email to bushwickbeachbus@gmail.com to lock down a seat on the inaugural ride. Include your name, phone number, number of people in your party, day and time and then look for a confirmation email. And if you can’t make it this weekend, there will be weekday buses for folks with at least eight people in their party.
Buses will depart from Pearl’s Social and Billy Club at 40 St. Nicholas Avenue at Starr Street at 10 am and return at 3 pm.
