We’ve known for a while now that Rag & Bone would be coming to Court St. in the former location of Downtown Bar and Grill—part of a larger, ongoing influx of upscale retail in the neighborhood—and today, a tipster told Brownstoner that they’re well on their way to getting set up, and paying exorbitant rents to do so.
According to the site’s anonymous source, the retailer will be paying $190 per square foot per year, which is a new record for Cobble Hill. One mature commenter already chimed in, “hello suckers!!!! get lost Rag and Bone(r).” Hmm. Who’d have ever thought this is what the ripple effects of the neighborhood’s new Trader Joe’s would look like?
