“Pop-up” may be as overused a word as “artisanal” and “locally-sourced,” but it doesn’t make the short-lived event any less worth going to and this weekend, the team behind the extremely new Meat Mrkt are bringing a noteworthy one to Brooklyn.
From 12 to 6 p.m. this Saturday, April 12, the “integrated pop-up series with a focus on art, fashion, music and creative expression through the urban lens,” will host a rooftop party on the 7000 square foot rooftop of OfficeOps at 57 Thames Street near Knickerbocker Avenue.
Here are some event highlights:
The absolutely free pop-up will feature “bold and affordable brands and designers” in streetwear, a bar serving Austin’s own Tito’s Handmade Vodka, an art gallery curated by Wu-Tang Clan member Oliver “Power” Grant and our personal favorite, a $7 “all-borough craft beer tasting.” On top of that, there will be music, live painting and giveaways.
While there’s a possibility that it will rain on Saturday, chances are slim, so we wouldn’t plan on missing out on this one. And like we said, admission is totally free except for the craft beer tasting tickets, which must be purchased here ahead of time.
