The Brooklyn Directors of Sundance
After this year’s Sundance Film Festival finished in January, several news outlets noted how Brooklyn-centric it had felt. “This is the year Sundance went full Brooklyn,” Kyle Smith wrote in a New York Post article headlined “Sundance Flicks Boast a Brooklyn Flair.” Two days later, Variety published an article called “Sundance: Festival Suffers from Too Much Brooklyn” in which Ramin Setoodeh complained that “Park City suffered from looking like Park Slope.” We guess we could see why that would annoy some people, but we think it’s great! So we decided to celebrate all the locals who showed films in Utah this winter by catching up with three hometown directors who were there.
