Philip Seymour Hoffman’s Death Ruled Accidental, Result of “Toxic Mix of Drugs”
The office of the medical examiner released the autopsy results for Philip Seymour Hoffman this afternoon, having found his death accidental.
Hoffman died of what NBC News calls a “toxic mix of drugs,” including heroin, cocaine, benzodiazepines and amphetamines. There isn’t really much to be said that hasn’t been said before, but our thoughts are with Hoffman’s friends and family. And, of course, if you know someone who is struggling with substance abuse, beyond advocating for a particular type of treatment or espousing your own ideas of how best to deal with addiction, try to remember that there are no right answers, no easy solutions. And let’s all try to do the best we can for ourselves and for each other.
