Bushwick Is Getting A Major BBQ Joint
Vegans and vegetarians (and everyone else between), we love you, we really do, but this is a major coup for meat lovers everywhere! A BBQ joint is coming to Bushwick!
According to Eater, Tyson Ho of Arrogant Swine fame is planning to open a BBQ joint/beer hall with an outdoor space on Morgan Avenue between Stagg and Scholes Streets. Ho will do what he’s best at: roasting WHOLE hogs Eastern Carolina-style. For those of you who didn’t major in southern BBQ, Carolina-style means lots of shredded, pulled, chopped and torn up pork as far as the eye can see.
This will be Ho’s first foray into running a restaurant (he worked in finance before his BBQ awakening) but he’s used to cooking for large groups of people. Last summer, he made a name for himself hosting a string of Hog Days of Summer parties at Long Island City’s John Brown Smokehouse and apprenticed at The Pit in Raleigh, North Carolina before that.
While the restaurant remains nameless, Ho has already made a big promise: The place will be a veritable “church of pork” featuring a wide selection of country hams as well as tasty barbecue. That’s really all we needed to hear. Look out for this welcome addition to open sometime this summer.
