Maybe We Don’t Need Official City Hall Portraits Anymore
Mayor Bloomberg released his Official City Hall Portrait today, and… we’re not saying its not nice—the apple-shpaed cufflinks are a well-placed pop of color, and it’s all much more dignified than if he’d submitted a list to Buzzffeed of GIFs in his own image, a la Chris Christie—but it still feels a little Uncanny Valley-y. Is this strictly necessary?
Maybe a nice, well-composed photo would do instead? But then, no one’s ever offered to preserve our image for posterity using the finest of oils or anything like that, so what do we know.
