Can’t Stomach Thanksgiving with Your Family? Spend It at These Family-Owned Restaurants Instead
Bamontes: You can’t choose your family, but it’s still a serious commitment to stay in business with them for 100+ years. This old-school Williamsburg relic was founded in 1900 by Pasquale Bamonte, currently run by his grandson, Anthony, and expected to be turned over shortly to the next in line — his great, great granddaughters, Nicole, Laura and Lisa Bamonte. You certainly won’t be mistaken for a regular here (unless you’re already intimately acquainted with Big Paulie, Jimbo, Frankie Cats and The Boys), but that doesn’t mean you can’t eat like one, surrounded by groaning platters of mussels marinara, fried calamari, gnocchi bolognese and steak pizzaiola.
