Photos: At the McCarren Park Ice Skating Rink Ribbon-Cutting
As of this morning, there’s officially one less entry on the list of things for which a trip to Manhattan is necessary: ice skating. After being delayed for a year due to some issues with paperwork, there’s now a brand new skating rink smack in the middle of McCarren Park Pool. The rink, which is being operated by the Open Space Alliance, holds 300 skaters and is open from 11am to 10pm seven days a week through January. At $8 for adults, $5 for students, and $4 for kids, (plus $5 for skate rental), it’s a hell of a deal, too.
