Eight Ways You Should Spend Your Remaining Fall Weekends in Brooklyn
See Banksy’s East New York beaver while it lasts
Probably the most interesting thing to come out of all this Banksy hysteria so far (besides the lauded return of Hanksy) has been this beaver in East New York, which immediately started drawing people who’d never set foot in the neighborhood otherwise, which, in turn, immediately sparked the idea for locals to start charging them a fee for the privilege of seeing it. Call it performance art, or capitalism run amuck, or a bunch of over-hyped nonsense, but this whole situation does a pretty good job of incapsulating what’s currently going on in Brooklyn both culturally and economically. Also, the beaver is very cute.
