10 Things You Need to Eat and Drink Before Summer’s Over

Black-Eyed Susan; Clover Club
Just like seasonal food is all the rage these days, seasonal drinks are also having their moment. Clover Club offers several cocktails that are designed for hot weather consumption, all have a spicy kick and a slightly sweet profile, but none stray into cloying, syrupy margarita-land. My favorite is the Black-Eyed Susan, which combines gin (the best alcohol for hot weather, I think), strawberry, peach liqueur and black pepper syrup. It’s sweet and spicy and refreshing. You definitely want to down a couple of these (preferably accompanied by a plate of Clover CLub’s perfect deviled eggs) before it’s removed from the menu in preparation for fall cocktail season.
