Shake Shack Comes to DUMBO, Which We’re Possibly More Excited About Than the Average Brooklynite Because That’s Where Our Office Is

So far this week there’s been news of two new ice-skating rinks coming to McCarren and Prospect Parks in December and a new outdoor-mini-film series curated by Nitehawk coming to Havemeyer Park in September, which, alone, was enough to redeem our faith that living in Brooklyn has always been the right decision. The good news keeps on coming, though, as wholly satisfying burger chain Shake Shack announced they’ll be opening another Brooklyn location—their third, pending the completion of their Barclays Center shop—this time in DUMBO.
You know what else is located in DUMBO? Brooklyn Magazine/The L Magazine‘s HQ. So that explains the pool of drool on my laptop. Gross. But self-interest aside, as well as the moral admiration and yada yada yada for the two vegans on staff, the store, set to open next year at One Old Fulton Street, is another assassin combating the notoriously slim pickings of lunch options (even if that argument is partially untrue) in a highly concentrated area of office workers, rich people and tourists. So on behalf of BK Mag and The L Mag, we welcome you, Shake Shack, just as we did with your sister Pinkberry: with open arms. You’ll fit right in here.
