The one thing maybe as bad as running out of food altogether? Having to wait in a 90 minute line for the privilege of paying $14 for a grilled cheese. In hopes of alleviating what will still likely be pretty long waits, organizers this year have limited each vendor to a single food item each—no getting to the front of the line and hemming and hawing, you dumb dumbs—and hiring more staff to man the booths.
“A lot of our projections were based on what we thought, and giving our best estimation and working with the restaurants,” Superfly cofounder Jonathan Mayers told Gothamist. “The demand was incredible, which is a good thing, but frankly we weren’t prepared for that.”
