5 Trucks to Watch at Next Week’s Choice Streets Festival

Granted, food trucks are never not hugely popular, but as the weather (we hope) gets warmer by the day, well, we’re headed into the season where it’s not only sanctionable but generally encouraged to eat every single one of our meals from a truck. Meaning, the Village Voice‘s 2nd annual “Choice Streets” event couldn’t be coming at a better time.
In the second year producing the Choice Eats offshoot, the team at the Voice has expanded their roster of trucks, and the event is settling into its location at Pier 86 under the Intrepid. “I don’t think attendees necessarily realized last year, but anyone attending has free access all over the Intrepid,” Event Director Rosemary Jorda told us yesterday. “So you can fill up, get a drink, and then walk all around the museum.” And, even though Choice Streets attendees will be getting samples from all 25 participating trucks, we asked Jorda to point us in the direction of 5 we should be keeping an eye on. The event, which takes place next Tuesday night, is already sold out, but even if you didn’t manage to score a ticket, this seems like a prime opportunity to start planning your summer eating itinerary. Really, you can never be too prepared.
