Where in Brooklyn Are You Least Likely to Get Robbed?
5. Brooklyn Heights/Downtown Brooklyn/DUMBO: 181
This actually surprises me… maybe just a little: with so much foot traffic in Downtown Brooklyn, between the courthouses and everything else, you’d figure there might be an uptick in robberies? And what about all those gawky tourists in DUMBO? But maybe it’s precisely that increase in “eyes on the street” that keeps people relatively safe? Plus, for those visitors it’s really a daytime destination, and robbery is probably safer (for the perpetrator) to commit at night? [photo]
