Brooklyn’s Former Speakeasies
Grand Prospect Hall
The South Slope banquet hall/party space has a 900-square-foot room called “The Speakeasy Lounge,” where Coppola shot The Cotton Club, and it seems the name is a tribute to its former function: “a peephole remains in the door to the speakeasy as well as a secret door to the speakeasy’s men’s room,” reported Newsday in the 90s.
