Is Tony Danza the Most Exciting Man in the World? Maybe!
Full disclosure: my love for Tony Danza is unlimited. But also? It is totally justified. And it just keeps getting more and more and more justified. Following the news that Mr. Danza—who am I kidding? I know he’d want me to call him Tony—is possibly, MAYBE (though probably not) considering a run for NYC mayor, comes the announcement that he will be appearing at the upcoming Brooklyn Book Festival to discuss his new book, “I’d Like to Apologize to Every Teacher I Ever Had.”
Yes, this means he’s an author too. I love this man.
DNAInfo reports that Danza will be speaking with Marty Markowitz “for a one-on-one conversation on the festival’s main stage at Brooklyn Borough Hall.” The Brooklyn Book Festival will be host this year to some of the country’s most prestigious and popular authors (including many local favorites, naturally) like Colson Whitehead, Joyce Carol Oates, Paul Auster, and Edwidge Danticat. And, of course, Mr. Tony Danza.
I’m not the only one who is incredibly excited about Danza’s appearance. Marty Markowitz told DNA that, “Tony has just the right amount of charisma and Brooklyn attitude to make this one of the more interesting events of the Festival.”
Yeah, he does! The book that Danza is discussing, “I’d Like to Apologize to Every Teacher I Ever Had,” is “a nonfiction account of his time spent as a rookie teacher in Philadelphia. The experience was filmed for the A&E reality show, ‘Teach: Tony Danza,’ which one reviewer praised as ‘subtle and affecting.'” Can you even imagine having Tony Danza as your teacher? As the boss, so to speak, of your classroom? I can imagine it. I can imagine it very well.
