Shopping for new ballpoint pens and notebooks and loose leaf paper reinforcements and all this other stuff that has probably been rendered obsolete by iPads and all else digital was always one of my favorite things. I loved sharpening pencil after pencil, a mindlessly repetitive task that was like meditation to a 12-year-old me.
