Photos: At the Release Party for Brooklyn Brewery’s Fiat Lux

Brooklyn Brewery hosted an event last night celebrating the release of Fiat Lux, the newest addition to their Brewmaster’s Reserve Series. It’s a Belgian-style Witbier with a surprisingly heavy dose of usual-suspect American hops like Chinook, Columbus, Centennial and Cascade, plus a touch of naturally bitter lime peel and some Indian coriander, which as the Brewmaster himself, Garret Oliver, explained, is fruitier than the Mexican stuff you find in most markets. It’s suitable for the hottest of hot summer days, but it’s also complex enough and so incredibly full of flavor that to call it a summer beer almost seems a disservice. It’ll start showing up at all your favorite bars in the next couple weeks, so be on the lookout. And then maybe send an email telling ’em to bottle it. You’ll want to have this one on hand at home.
Robert Caputo was on hand to take photos of the event, which also featured food offerings from the likes of Ovenly, Sigmunds, The Meat Hook and more.
