Bike Lane Coming to 15th Street

As part of a package of changes to Bartel-Pritchard Square, the perilous roundabout that divides Park Slope from Windsor Terrace, the department of transportation has proposed a new bike lane on 15th Street, the Park Slope Patch reports. The lane would run west of Eighth Avenue; between Eighth Avenue and Prospect Park West, there would be “bike arrows,” which would also be installed on 14th Street. (Does anybody know what bike arrows are?)
DOT has long-planned this lane, but initially withdrew it from consideration when the flare-up over the Prospect Park West bike lane was at its worst, the Brooklyn Paper reports.
There will be a meeting tonight to discuss the lane and the other proposed changes to the Square: 6:30pm at Holy Name Church (in Shepherd’s Hall), 245 Prospect Park West.
