For over 14 years, Rojas has stationed his food truck by the commercial strip on Pennsylvania Avenue. “My business is dead,” he said. “Insurance goes up, gas goes up, inflation goes up, and sales never do.” Over the past five years he’s noticed a big drop in customers as the surrounding stores have taken a hit from the nearby Gateway Mall. He disapproves of the proposed Walmart and refuses to station himself by Gateway, or anywhere but here.
