Several stations on the N line in Brooklyn—the section known as the Sea Beach Line, the outdoor stretch from 59th Street to Stillwell Avenue—are falling apart, the Bensonhurst Bean reports. In June, a gutter at the 18th Avenue station broke off from the roof and landed on the platform, the most visible degradation among stations where stairways have rusted, walls have cracked, paint has peeled, and water leaks in.

The MTA plans to repair the damage—starting in 26 months, the blog reports, and lasting for four years, which will undoubtedly cause frequent service disruptions. Damned if you do, damned if you don't! Sorry, Bensonhurst and Gravesend residents.
