Zito's Sandwich Shoppe opened in Park Slope in August; less than a year later, it's about to open two more locations. Press 195, a decade-old sandwich spot on Fifth Avenue off Union Street, will close its doors by June 11, Here's Park Slope reports (the owners have two other locations, in Queens and Long Island); Zito's will move right in and should be open within days. "It's already a sandwich shop, so there's not much work to do," one owner told the blog. The new location will feature table service, while the original Zito's, on Seventh Avenue between 7th and 8th streets, features only counter service.

Zito's also recently announced that it will open a location in Coney Island this summer, as will several other local restaurants.

As for Press 195, it "was unique when they first opened but has failed to draw the crowds in recent years," Here's Park Slope reports, "even though the offerings were always perfectly acceptable, if pricey for what you got." A pressed sandwich just ain't the novelty it used to be.
