How Many Times Have You Listened To “Bad and Boujee” by Migos Today?
Is it too early to declare the anthem of 2017? I don’t think it’s too early to declare an anthem of 2017 (even if it’s a song released in 2016).
“Bad and Boujee,” by Migos and featuring 22-year-old rap dynamo Lil’ Uzi Vert, had been strongly and steadily climbing the charts for some time, and was already a certified banger. But during Sunday night’s 74th Golden Globe Awards, the song got an even stronger bump by means of a ringing endorsement from perhaps the coolest person on earth right now (?) in Donald Glover. Check out this progression:

Now it feels like everyone, everywhere, is bumping this track, just absolutely basking in the tender bars from the Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff trio. Sounds like hyperbole, but those numbers (everyone, everywhere) are probably pretty close to factual: after a few weeks of lingering and eventually reaching #2 last week “Bad and Boujee” is now officially the #1 song in the country.
Personally, it’s just past noon, and I’ve listened to this jam no less than four times already. You’re probably around the same amount. If not, there’s plenty of time to catch up. When better than now? What are you waiting for?
