Season 4 Of Broad City Is “Coming In Hard and Raw” This August
The mood among comedy lovers everywhere was universally lifted this morning, when Comedy Central released a video of Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer announcing that Broad City will be returning to televisions everywhere this August. The pair, who both star in and write the show, let the fans know that it’s coming. “Coming in hard,” as Abbi says, before Ilana echoes her sentiment, “Coming in hard and raw,” as Jacobson cracks up alongside her.
It’s a little bit of a delay for the series, which has previously debuted its seasons in the early winter months of the calendar year (last season debuted in February). The series, which also stars Hannibal Buress in a recurring role, is wildly popular in its depiction of its two stars and their wild and often bizarre adventures throughout the five boroughs of New York City. Guest stars have also made a prominent role, as the likes of Fred Armisen, Kelly Ripa, Blake Griffin, and even Hillary Clinton have all made their way into the extended Broad City universe.
Glazer and Jacobson have seen their stars rise quite a bit since the series began on Comedy Central (and particularly since the show’s initial run as a web series), with Jacobson recently putting out an illustrated book, Carry This Book, and voicing a character on Netflix’s Bojack Horseman, while Glazer has made the rounds throughout the city with her stand-up. Both have also worked with Seth Rogen—also a Broad City guest star—with Glazer appearing in last year’s The Night Before, while Jacobson showed up in this year’s Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising.
Check out the short announcement video below, and hope that it can hold you over until August—or, at least until the first trailer for the new season:
