Regina Spektor Announces Limited Brooklyn Show At Rough Trade
Ever since Regina Spektor wrote and performed the theme song for Netflix’s hit series Orange Is The New Black, the singer-songwriter’s profile has grown considerably. More and more people have been exposed to her back catalogue, including her most recent album, 2012’s What We Saw From The Cheap Seats, which was her sixth full-length record.
On September 30th, Spektor will release her 7th album, Remember Us To Life, which will be her first release since Orange made her voice and name familiar to so many binge-crazed Netflix subscribers, namely, almost everyone. Ahead of the album, Spektor just announced a few show dates, including a pair in New York City. The first of these will be at Town Hall on October 17th, and the second will be here in Brooklyn, at Rough Trade, on the following night, October 18th. Given the smaller size of the latter venue, tickets will be distributed through a lottery system on Spektor’s website.
With music featured in several popular films and television shows, including this gut-wrenching scene from 2009’s (500) Days of Summer, Spektor should have been a mainstay of soundtrack fans since well before Orange debuted in the summer of 2013. But regardless of when, where, or how they discovered her, those fans will surely be pleased with another chance to see her live—and in various-sized venues—should be a fun time.
