Hear Natalie Prass’ Gilded Anita Baker Cover “Caught Up In The Rapture”
Natalie Prass had one of those Cinderella story years. In 2014 you probably never heard her name, but she released her self-titled debut album at the top of the year, and blazed through 2015 in a cloud of glory. To top it all off, she’s releasing the short Side By Side EP before the year is out. Today Stereogum premiered her Anita Baker cover, “Caught Up In The Rapture” and she brings a subtle, gilded tone to the classic. Side By Side will include live versions of “Christie” and “My Baby Don’t Understand Me” and covers of Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence” and “Realiti” by Grimes. Like her debut, the whole thing was recorded at the illustrious Spacebomb Studios. Hear her version of “Caught Up In The Rapture” here and stream Natalie Prass in full if you haven’t — it’s phenomenal.
The Side By Side EP is out 11/20 via StarTime International.
