Wait, Passenger Bar Is Closing Too?
It’d already been a shitty week for long-running trend-resistant Brooklyn bars, what with the announced closing of Bushwick’s Tandem Bar; but now there’s more bad news: Passenger Bar is closing. Ugh.
Bedford + Bowery announced the news a couple days ago, but we only just saw it and we’re legitimately sad, and so are trying to make you sad too. We were last at Passenger Bar to celebrate the wedding of two college friends and so it’s a spot that has, you know, sentimental value for us. But also for so many other people in north Brooklyn, because it’s been around for a long time—long enough to have seen many changes in that part of Williamsburg, for sure.
Passenger Bar will go out with a bang though: B+B reveals, “the bar’s official last day is November 8, but the final blowout, with a live performance by The Cameramen, Jaleel Bunton (TV on the Radio) and some very special guest DJs, is November 7.”
