Good Things Are Happening, “Brooklyn Live at the Flea” Kicks Off Sunday With Alex G
UPDATE: Unfortunately, Snoozer had to drop off Sunday’s bill. But it’s all good! They’ll be replaced by BIG MUFF RADIO, noted enthusiasts of riffs, analog recording and capital letters.
Here we are. July 31. Before we know it, the world will be gray and barren, and leaving our apartments in the frigid December air will be the worst. This is one of many reasons to join us at the Brooklyn Flea this Sunday to kick off Brooklyn Live’s free show series. The Internet says it will be 88 degrees with guaranteed sun. Guaranteed sun! The Brooklyn Flea is an Eden of artisan, vintage and DIY wares that will look great in your apartment. There are delicious things to eat and drink. And, above all, big-hearted Philly singer-songwriter Alex G will headline a show set to prove that kids and their guitars will always be a thing, and the world is better for it.
Gates to the Brooklyn Flea at 50 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg (Kent Ave & North 12th St) will open at 10am, per usual, with slack-rock Philadelphians Snoozer BIG MUFF RADIO on at 3pm, emotive New Jerseyans Pinegrove at 3:45pm, and Alex G at 4:45pm. RSVP here (the show is free!). While you’re at it, get yourself set for next week by RSVPing to Caveman, Rivergazer (solo) and The Fluids on August 9. Summer is just better than other seasons, you know?
This free concert series is brought to you in partnership with Open Space Alliance for North Brooklyn, NYC Department of Parks & Recreation, Northside Media Group & Brooklyn Flea.
