Porches, the Brooklyn-based five-piece fronted by Aaron Maine, performed a live set at Storm King Art Center last month. Despite the rain and long drive from Brooklyn, fans gathered for a live performance also featuring Frankie Cosmos. The park, which boasts 500 acres and 100 sculptures in their outdoor gardens, hosts a free summer concert series. We spent the afternoon with Porches and manager Billy Jones, enjoying their set and exploring the park.
There’s plenty of legendary artwork that can be found at the upstate sculpture garden, such as the Figolu and Frog Legs by artist Mark di Suervo, and the Storm King Wavefield by Maya Lin.
