Yesterday afternoon in the Flatlands area of Brooklyn, a 15-year-old boy named Isiah Joseph was shot in the back, and an as-yet unidentified 20-year-old man was shot in the lower rear torso, during an attack at Avenue H and East 56th Street. Although several shots were fired, each victim was only struck once. Both were taken to nearby Brookdale Hospital, where Joseph was pronounced dead.

According to the Times, police in the area are searching for three people who were seen fleeing the area after the shots rang out, around 1:15 p.m. Joseph was reportedly riding his bicycle to a friend’s house when he was shot. Police have yet to release official descriptions of the suspects, although nearby surveillance footage shows three men running from the scene of the shooting (screenshot above). These three are the suspects, and according to police, the man wearing the black jacket with gray pants is the shooter.

We’ll update with any further information.
