Park Slope’s Tea Lounge Auctions Off All Its Furniture
Some of the items seemed like a deal. Fire extinguishers, according to DNA Info, were sold for $3 each and, hey, that does seem like a bargain. Also up for grabs: amps, the cash register, juicers, and various pieces of coffee-making equipment, all for cheap. Some bidders were there for the cheap, cheap chairs (those high stools went for just $1) and others went to score a souvenir of their favorite place to cozy up with a laptop.
The Tea Lounge announced last week that it would shutter after 14 years in operation, much to the distress of its neighborhood regulars. Some of the Tea Lounge defenders have started a petition to turn the space into another cafe and co-working space called the Meeting House. Hopefully one of them bid on the cappuccino machine.
