Video Gallery, Park Slope’s Last Brick-and-Mortar Movie Rental, To Close

Adios to one of the few independent video rental stores still standing. Park Slope staple Video Gallery is closing its doors at the end of September.

The little local rental on 7th avenue between 8th and 9th street has been operating for over 15 years. Park Slope Stoop broke the bad news after spotting a “going out of business sale” sign and stopping in to chat with owner Kathy Smelyansky. Now, Smelyansky is unloading much of the rental DVDs at three for $10. Stop by to say farewell and nab some, if you even still watch DVDs.
