Brooklyn Public Library Has A New Personal Recommendation System
In case you missed it, we Brooklynites should be proud to have the Brooklyn Public Library around. It’s a great local resource—especially when we return books there. And now to add to everything that already makes our library system amazing (i.e. its pie shop), there is a very new, very amazing recommendation system available on the Brooklyn Public Library’s website.
Via Brokelyn: Last week, the BPL launched Bklyn BookMatch, a totally free book recommendation form that allows users to share what kinds of books/authors they already like or don’t like with the library and what format they like to read those books in (i.e. print, ebook, etc.). Then, the folks at the BPL will get back to you within a week with their recommendations!
What’s more, the system is great for choosing books for the teens or kiddies in your life if you literally have no idea what they’d be interested in seeing as your an adult. List a few YA or children’s books you know they like and the BPL will get back to you with plenty of suggestions.
And yes, we know you could always use Amazon or Goodreads, but where’s the hyperlocal fun in that? Check out the brand new system here and enjoy the read whatever it may be.
