Uber Offering Free Rides For Stranded G Train Riders
As folks in Long Island City and northern Greenpoint are all too aware, the G train will be out of commission between Court Square and Nassau Avenue starting tonight and running through September 2. It’s the pits. But we’re lucky enough to live in a city where massive corporations are willing to step in and butter us up in our time of need. That’s why Uber is offering one-time free rides between Court Square and Nassau Avenue starting today.
Here’s how it works according to Bedford + Bowery: All you have to do is download Uber, use the code FREETRANSFER and you’ll receive $30 off a ride in Uber’s predetermined “Free Transfer Zone,” which stretches from just south of the Queensborough Bridge in Queens to just northeast of N. 14th Street in Greenpoint. And like we said you can only use it ONE TIME, so use the deal wisely.
The free transfer deal will run through August 31.
