Bartender Chronicles: Brooke Buzzerd, Berry Park
Have you ever wondered what life is like for those kind and patient people pouring shots behind the bar? This summer we’re bringing you a meet and greet with some of your favorite faces behind the bar at your favorite haunts. After the jump, Brooke Buzzerd from Berry Park shares her tip on how not to behave at a bar.
How long have you been a bartender?
I’ve been bartending for 6 years.
Where did you get your start?
I started serving drinks when I was in college. I was the beverage cart girl for a golf course in Houston, Texaz.
What do you like about bartending?
I really enjoy talking to people–whether it’s finding out more about them or simply asking how their day is going.
What’s the best thing about working at Berry Park?
Hot summer days on the roof top, good music playing, & those Manhattan skyline views…Berry Park is such a fun spot to work at!
What’s your best advice regarding bar etiquette?
Don’t snap, whistle, or wave at me…I’m not a taxi.
Do you have any hobbies you pursue when you’re not bartending?
Yes. I have a boozy cupcake catering business here in Williamsburg. I infused my love of baking and making cocktails into Buzz Cupcakes! I make cupcakes inspired by great cocktails. Think, margaritas, mimosas, white Russians, Irish car bombs…you name it, I’ll bake it.
