New Renderings Of BAM South Are Here
We’ve been so wrapped up in Two Trees’ filing of permits on the Domino Sugar Refinery site that we nearly forgot that central Brooklyn is also facing a massive new project from the big name developer. It’s a residential and retail building called BAM South and Two Trees ground broke on the project back in May. Now, we’ve got a new look at the final product.
Via NY YIMBY: BAM South will boast 384 apartments (20% which fall under the category of “affordable”) on 32 stories as well as 21,928-square-feet of retail, 45,148-square-feet of cultural space and a large scale courtyard.
As you can see in the image from above, the development—located at 286 Ashland Place—will be slightly shorter than the gorgeous Skylight One Hanson and feature a wealth of greenspace for folks in Downtown Brooklyn and Fort Greene to enjoy. Culturally, the area will benefit from new spaces for BAM’s archives, a branch of the Brooklyn Public Library, a dance studio, and a cinema.
If all goes according to plan, BAM South should be complete by August 2016.
