Container – “Glaze”
Who needs a strobe light when you’ve got a geyser of sheet-metal sparks?
Liars – “Mess on a Mission”
Celebrating their artistic maturity by donning bandit masks and attending a rave they are way too old for. Seriously, bless these guys. I hope they make records forever.
Wye Oak – “Glory”
Jenn Wasner, afraid that her guitar playing was becoming a songwriting crutch, ditched her axe entirely for the synth-saturated Shriek. Even so, she still found space in her cold, airy pop compositions to shred a bit.
Xiu Xiu – “Stupid in the Dark”
